Audio menu gone
« on: December 26, 2012, 12:32:04 pm »
Since installing a polar fis I have lost the audio menu in my highline display.

Polar suggested that I pull the fuse for my stereo to reset it, this brought back the audio menu for a day then it vanished again.

I have tried to reset the stereo by pulling the fuse, last time I left the fuse out for 12 hours and still no audio menu.

I do not have a polar fis Installed in my car any more but still no audio menu.

Auto polar deny that there box caused the issues and it is my fault for swapping can gateways!

Any suggestions to try and fix this? I have VCDS

Have you reset the cluster by removing the fuse?
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

what radio have you got?

Absolute nonsense from polar about changing the gateway

when you scan the car do you get a fault in the gateway that it can't find the radio

The radio faults I posted first were what was caused when I installed the polar box but did not come back after removing them.

I take it the polar FIS has been removed now?

If it has take the 75 Telematics out of the coding in the gateway

Check your coding on the RCD510 to make sure the sound system is not coded

Clear all the faults either by using the clear all DTC or by going into each module

I have unticked telematics from the can gateway.

All DTCs cleared and none are coming back up when I do a scan now but still no audio menu.

Would it be worth me trying the RCD300 that originally came with the car to see if the audio menu appears with that?

Does anyone know what fuses are for the instrument cluster? I don't have a manual for my car, its registerd January 2006.

Well your RCD510 is seen so I don't think swapping radios would help. I suspect your problem may lie with the gateway seeing the Radio:  No Signal/Communication - Intermittent fault

As for the instrument cluster fuse, I don't know but I'm pretty sure Eddie or kalu could help you out here.

Is that like how your gateway wouldn't see the RNS
As soon as I received the gateway back, I tested it on my indoor set-up and in my car and it was fine

The issue could be with the wiring or how the polar has done something to the instrument cluster

The gateway and stereo has been perfect from the day I installed Them, Everything worked as it should for months.

It was as soon as I installed a polar box that I started having issues.

I even tried the original gateway that came with the car and still don't get the audio menu so I don't think there is a problem with the gateway.

Despite what polar say I believe the polar fis has caused these issues I just don't understand how I am still having the problems with the polar box and wiring removed.

I have still not had any reply from auto polar about my problems after them coming on here last week and stating that they will still help me
