Suzuki swift sport and Suzuki in general...what are they like?
« on: December 27, 2012, 03:27:37 pm »
My Mrs is about to start a new job and she currently drives a 2001 polo GTi,  nice car and has had a lot of work lately like driveshafts and tie rods, coilovers etc, she will be doing some local traveling and her car isn't really the car for it, it's low, on split rims, loud hidden exhaust etc so she is in need of a new car, she likes the swift sports and the new ones even by my count looks ace  :signLOL:
It's not rheumatoid fastest car but is nippy and that's all that is needed,  they have a good spec and seem cheap, they have 130 tax a year and can get 44mpg, the model were looking at is the new swift sport so I know not everyone will know issues etc but just wonderd what there like? We have never owned a Suzuki before so have no idea on service costs etc and relability.

Is there anyone with experience of these cars/brand?

Cheers peeps

Feel huge inside, not massively fun but ok, reliable, good cheap all rounder. Better than a small engined boring diesel.

Cheers guys  :drinking: as long as there a good reliable car I'm happy, the previous model was a let down from what I've read, they new ones from doing research suggest the new one is brilliant fun although it not being a rocket this is only due to YouTube searches tho and those 1 man band motor testers  :driver:

Nothing too real to contribute here unfortunately but my mate had a brand new (MY07 at the time) Swift 5 door 1.3D and it was a solid little motor, bit of torque and grunt for around town. He didn't do many miles so filled it up every 6 weeks, he'd hit 50mpg even zipping around on short journeys.

He also lost about £500 on price (sold it back to the same dealer) and he didn't have it for 2 minutes either, so they don't seem to be bad on depreciation unless you're keeping it forever  :happy2:

Not fun??

These are absolutely fapping hilarious little cars, pretty much the best FWD chassis (in production) outside of Renault's RS range.

When I go to the Ring, I hire one of these over all sorts of other cars available - simply because they're so much fun.

Sideways yo!

I'll also add they're pretty much bombproof. R4R have a fleet of them and they just keep working, despite the abuse they take.

Sure the interior is a bit poor, but they're cheap!
Sideways yo!
