Someone would buy the old GT28 as well so you can recoup some cash

[excuses]
I would of expected it to spank mine.. considering my car was running poor, and his has the hybrid, WMI, and a mixture of racefuel.. oh and DSG :)
[/excuses]

Even I didn't expect the Statller Golf ED30 to be quite that quick.

Have you spoken to APR yet about it. Id be knocking their doors down!
As it has dyno'd 480 bhp in the past it shouldn't just leak away power , especially not to the extent that your car is slower than mine at top speed.

The 480 was with the race fuel map using meth.
I dont use meth anymore, so expect it to be under 450 normally. 400-450 depending on state of tune.

I need to get it checked out at some point yes, but still looks like its leaking oil. So thats more important.

Yes, when you went there were quite a few spots of oil on the floor. When Steve looked he said it was coming from around the turbo oil feed pipes, so quite an important place to ensure you don't have leakage.

My meth only nets around 10bhp at the top end and race fuel around 20-25bhp, so realistically you should still be around 460bhp.

His gt28 could just have the compressor changed to billet by Owens? A trick turbo upgrade is about 800iirc.

I think that's where you lose alot of time dan, because last time I drove your car that's what I noticed, lag when starting the runs, and then again after each gear change the transient response could be better its like the car took a little while to spool again. I mean once it gets going its quick, but the spool and response is deffo hurting you big time.

That's the beauty of APRs new 2.0tfsi kit, spools like a ko4, mid range like yours and a little more on top? Deffo one for the future now you are 4wd and can make use of all the power. Would knock whole seconds off your 30-130 time when comparing your car to other apr stage 3 2.0tfsi owners

Spools like a K04?

Not what APRs power graphs show! A good 700-1000rpm difference. Mind you, you are right about the GT2871, that is very laggy.

Having driven the APR Golf at K04 and GTx28 setups, im fairly certain there is negligible difference in the spool.

I remember you graphing up a K04 v Dans GT28 back along and there being a big difference, but the new GTx setups are definitely not like that.

Dans car should be stronger than it is there's no doubt about that! obviously hes got some issues for sure with it
Imho it needs a thorough going through to iron out all the niggles, he doesn't seem confident in it which is a shame after all the time and effort he's spent on it recently, silly things easily fixable I'd guess
A few days tweaking even the current spec would get it running a lot stronger and sweeter and yield much better results, coincidently I offered him some RF to try but he didn't take me up on it

Its time to build something wild that's still streetable, drive it down & give them traylor queens a good run for the money
7 seconds would be a good target time for next year  :signLOL:

Btw I overheard a conversation about the gearbox in that AFP Scoob costing 120k alone  :stupid:

Lol more like £12k Steve Andys not that bonkers. It's a Modena Sequential 6 speeder built by TEG Sport that's able to take all the pounding he dishes out. Looking at the records he's broken in the last 12 months I think he sees that as one of his best investments.

Really nice chap too. I was chatting to him whilst he was packing away and he seemed to me like a top bloke.

Me thought that but someone was whispering about it in the paddock
The stripped out blue loba 500p TTRS is having a 20k sequential box fitted so I'd guess Andys at 12k to be a bargain
I know the 997 RSR cup boxes cost 25 - 30k (10k to freshen every 10 hours too)
I'll never build something like that as it would return me nothing but a 1400kg 1000whp 7 second car interests me
Sounded absolutely fuxxed when he clocked off in it good fun !!

And yes Ben he was a really nice bloke very humble always smiling

Cheers Jason, can't wait to see yours run next year!

I'd like to think we can go faster with more grip! still no real grip until 4th gear with the 888 SG's even on the Marham surface!
The beauty about the car is its still such a lovely daily I see 30mpg + even in traffic and when you open the tap fully its a very entertaining drive!

We need to crack on with the RS for next years events, I'd hope for a 10.xx from it but I just don't know until we get much more familiar with that 2.5
