I wondered if anyone is using 4GEE (Everything Everywhere) and what their experiences are?

I am currently using a Galaxy Nexus on Vodafone but am beyond frustrated at how crap and intermittent the mobile network I pick up in London is.

I am considering moving across to EE and a new Galaxy s3 but am unsure if the extra expense is worth it.

I have no experience of using 4G on EE myself but I do work on the engineering side of things on the Vodafone network up north.  If there's a specific issue you're having in a particular location then I could perhaps try and get someone to look into it for you?  I do sense from your post however that it's the network in general that you're not happy with.  I got outsourced from Vodafone to a 3rd party managed services contractor in 2009 so I take absolutely no offense if you want to give them both barrels!

I have been using it since start of November with an iPhone. Generally coverage is OK was previously with Vodafone for years around my area I would say it's 95% of Voda's coverage, but in major cities and in particular places like London I can't fault it.

When in a 4G area the data speeds are awesome. Ran a test at work just before Xmas and here's the speeds I get in Derby: -

I just find my connection to the Internet is brutal at the best of times.
I don't think it's asking much these days to have an Internet signal on my phone in the centre of London.
Other than that Vodafone have always offered me good deals.

That speed test is superb. I got 3mbps on Vodafone.

I can't see Steve's speed on my iPhone for some reason. Can someone type the speed in a reply?

I get about 8Mbps on the 3 network nearly all the time.

My cousin was in the process of buying an iPhone 5 when I saw him in September.

He lives in the States and says 4G over there for him means 100Mb download speeds.

The question I have is whether there's enough infrastructure in place to support it? Wouldn't surprise me if you're getting 22MB now and then a year down the line when everyone else is 4GEE enabled, it drops to something ridiculously slow.

I've got a 4g S3 lte, but there isn't 4g in the area. Just got to wait.  At home and work I just use the WiFi, which at home will do 38mps down and 28mps up.  More than fast enough for a phones WiFi.

I have both a o2 contract and EE.

Ive found the EE to be better, less dropped calls, consistently a better signal.

Havent really tried out the 4GEE yet though, WIFI is everywhere I stop off these days in London.

I'm lucky to get 0.5mps on my home bt wifi (No cable !), our Suffolk county council has signed a deal with BT to give us all in Suffolk better broadband speeds
