I love power to weight.  There is nothing more fun than overtaking much more powerful cars on trackdays and seeing they're surprise.  The cars mine can keep up with makes me laugh and I havent even bothered running the Methanol injection and the more aggressive map yet either. (too scared of of the car braking to use it lol)

These power to weight figures don't really mean much especially as most people are talking about 30-70 and rolling starts etc.

For example sl55's p2w isnt that high but it will destroy a stage 2 eddy.
Many BMW'S and one bog standard MK5 3dr Golf GTI.

I think youd be surprised.  Is there a video of this?  Id be interested to see how close, especially with a DSG car :happy2:

The power to weight figures are pretty meaningless if the car in question can't translate that power to the road. Obviously at higher speeds its not an issue but I'd imagine a 320bhp front wheel drive hatch has problems in first and second gear?

There's too many factors to put into the equation to find out what cars are quickest really so all tests/races should be taken very mildly.

I have a stage 1 ED30 running 306bhp on Awesome's RR. It's got DSG, coilovers n WALK.

I have also recently sold my VXR8 auto which ran at 472bhp on a Dyno Dynamics RR.

On a rolling start around 30mph the Golf pulled off for a fraction, then the VXR8 picked up speed n stuck with the Golf.

Both had drivers who can drive good enough even though it's practically a point n go situation as it was on a straight.

If P-W ratio was worked out I bet there would be quite a difference to these 2

What power has the VXR8 got as standard?

(412bhp) Standard VXR8 is 227bhp / tonne
(419bhp) 6.2 VXR8 is 233 bhp / tonne
(533bhp) Supercharged is 291bhp / tonne

1850kg~

Based on your 472bhp version (which one was that?)

VXR8 472 bhp version = 255 bhp per tonne

Your Ed.30 is around 233bhp per tonne

Power to weight is only relative to peak Hp.  The differences between two vehicles bhp/ton might differ vastly throughout the revrange.
