Leeroy the search function is your friend!

There's loads of info on the washing stages and orders etc and also a straight forward guide too. Take it all in and use everything you've learnt the next time. Doesn't look like you've got too much of a job to get the car spanking clean anyway!  :happy2:

Its a can of worms you'd wished you'd never opened  be careful if you use clay bars. From personal experience, its ever so slightly lifted small stone chip repairs. Wait til the spring/summer for clay bar use I'd say. Poorboys Blackhole gloss is another good product for covering swirls and slight scratches, applied before wax/polish. Looking super shiney

Mine is pretty much as follows but there are plenty of ways people get good results

Id say first step always invest in a good quality wash mit!! they may seem pricey the bigger ones but the quality really helps to avoid swirls on the paint.

use of a tar remover or grime remover  (i use dodo crudzilla first before a was to get heavy contaminants and break down traffic film before a wash)then rinse,
two bucket wash(one for shampoo one for rinse of the mit)
Rinse and towel dry.
Polish autoglym SRP always works well for me but i also like lime prime/microprime depending on budget.
followed up with black hole glaze by poor boys (as yours is black)
I like to have a quick once over with QD at this point to get rid of any smearing or residue.
Then its Wax (i uses purple haze pro by dodo myself)
Then a final top off with Red mist spray.

Obviously product of choice for me is Dodo with a mix of auto glym polish and poorboys but thats cause its worked well for me!  try some new things and see what you can like to work with
good luck and enjoy! its addictive :happy2:

you dont know what your letting yourself in for.. especially with a dark car! lol

have a nose around, read the forums and hide your wallet as your new hobby (believe me it will become one) is about to get expensive

i do the following (just my way) if the weather is going to hold for the day.

Magi-foam
Rinse
2 bucket wash with meg's gold wash
rinse
final DI spotless finish rinse
Dry if required with MF towel (not normally needed now i have the DI filter)
Clay bar
AG HD cleanser
AG SRP
AG Extra gloss
AG ultra deep shine (on the BMW as its a black car, not the golf as its white)
AG HD wax (couple of coats)

I've not tried machine polishing the car yet as i want to get some practise/training with them first so i dont damage the paint.
