I was lead to believe the best mk4 was a tdi anniversary? Never seen one myself but looking ebay just now they seem decent and have held there value,  how true it is that the tdi was the best mk4 I don't know but I'd be pretty pissed off if a tdi was better than the petrol gti  :signLOL:

Yeah, the TDI anniversary had it all

Great seats, dials, BBS wheels, subtle bodykit and the engine was good for 200bhp after a remap  :happy2:

I had a 150 PD Anniversary. I wouldn't say it was better than the 1.8T though.

It's about time the MKIII got some love, they're a nice car overall - just need some powers, the handling has loads of potential, being basically a widetrack MKII.
Sideways yo!

We had a 130 PD for 4 years and was a great car but as said it weighed far too much. Think there was more troubles with the 150 PD so we chipped the 130 and it was fine.

Must say the best mk4 tho is the R32 :happy2:

I didnt like the Mk3 when it came out , but i have to say I do now , its a more interesting car than a Mk4. The best Mk4 GTI was of course a Mk1 Skoda Octavia vRS.  :happy2:
2005 Golf GTI 3 Door - Tornado Red. (2010 - 2012)

2008 Golf GTI 3 Door - Candy White , 18" Monza II's , Leather , Armrest , Rear Park sensors. (current car)

I think Mk1 Seat Leon Cupra R 225 drivers might have a good case to claim that award!

A lot of people forget about the MK4 Golf v5. I had one and it was pretty good and faster than the GTi in either 2.0 or 1.8 turbo. The 5 cylinder engine sounded just like an old Audi Quattro!

Chopped it in though for a Seat Leon Cupra TDI 150 PD which being the same platform as the mk4 golf still felt better to drive. Loved that car as it gave over 40mpg regardless of how it was driven

There were 2 versions of the V5 though. The 150bhp isnt worth shouting about. The 170bhp was a little better.

I've had a few of these too and they are very good cars. The 5 cylinder really gives it a luxury feel and go's pretty well too with an awesome soundtrack! I used to often get 40+mpg too, even from the auto I had!  :happy2:
