I just wish they looked a bit more special. I've considered a CC on a few occasions in the past (albeit not the 3.6 version!) but every time I get up close to one they've left me cold.

I imagine they're very well soundproofed too, so that noise won't be too noticeable most of the time.

My mates had an R36 for the last 3 years, it's a brilliant Q car. The CC doesn't have the fancy Ali suspension or naughty Haldex. Actually better on fuel than an R32 too, due to FSI technology.
Sideways yo!

Wasnt it off the road for about 6 months while VW tried to rebuild the DSG box though?

Yep, the curse that is DSG. The cumulative warranty bill is more than he paid for the car.

When it works though, it's superb. Did a 4.88 and 13.5 quarter at Inters bone stock and full weight last year, not bad for a battleship!
Sideways yo!

estate only IMHO, but i've never seen one listed on autotrader

tbh a B8 A4 2.0T quattro would be what i go for tho. they remap to 305bhp at Stage 1.

They've got the K04 2.0T in those then have they Sub?
Always assumed they were the smaller 2.0T.

they have the new generation engine with the IHI turbo from the Mk6 GTI BUT they have some different valve technology that makes them very tunable. the MY12 TT has this engine now too

Now why did you have to go and say something like that!

That is a very impressive time considering its a very heavy beast.  Saloon or estate.

Id love an R36.  Great looking car IMO.

1800KG (+driver and fuel) with just 300bhp doing a 13.5s 1/4 mile - that's pretty amazing.

Here's one doing a 13.66 with a bad start:

Shame they didn't add some twin K04's on the R36... perhaps an R36R

Gaz's is a saloon, silver one debadged on CHs. Nobody has a clue what it is

I think the engine is under-rated, it doesn't make sense them being so fast for an 1800kg+ car. Kick the suitcase of a rear 'zorst section off too and they sound absolutely insane.

They've got some pretty trick kit, Sachs gas dampers, quicker 'rack, all ali suspension and that Golf R version Haldex - they actually handle quite well for what they are.
Sideways yo!

Those quick 1/4s are all down to the haldex. 100MPH terminal is slower than my terminal at pod but .5 sec quicker.

Great cars... i would have one. :driver:

I don't think the Passat R is coming to the UK this time.

Rich - makes sense, it's 300kgs heavier with less power. You can't beat physics.
