Weitec Coilovers - advice
« on: July 05, 2009, 12:15:10 am »
Hi,

I ordered the Weitec Coilovers for my Golf GT TSi

 https://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/weitec-hicon-gt-coilover-suspension-kit-golf-5-golf-5-plus-14-14t-si-16-19tdi-20fsi-20sdi-20tdi-0903-p-3454.html

The garage is gonna lower it next week..

im just concerned i'll have the "knocking noises"

Whats your thoughts here ???

Don't worry, Rich - Having coilovers doesn't guarantee you knocking noises. It's more likely something might 'knock' if you lower too much.

I understand exactly what your thinking Rich as i have been thinking the same thing... :scared:

Worrying about knocking noises and other problems when installing coilovers i should be getting mine installed next week and i have been having second thoughs as well because of possible problems like knocking noises but in the end everyone that has them always says there pleased about having coilovers and as RedRobin says at least with coilovers you can always raises them up if you need too.. :happy2:

Good luck mate and  im sure it will go well and car will look exactly how you want it too.. :happy2:

Thats good news  :driver:

Its just i've been reading a lot of bad news about coilovers... and im very concerned about the slightest things going wrong. Thought it was best to post and ask on "how to avoid" knocking noises.

Feel bit easier now they're going on :innocent:

Not at all, in some cases the ride is better, in that I mean the control over bumps etc is better. It depends on the brand of coilover, some cheap ones have been known to give a very harsh ride, sayin that so have some expensive 1's  It really is down to brand, do the research and make a choice. KW's are very popular at the minute :happy2:
