It is a beautifully smooth curve though Ian, must drive nicely! Seriously take the output as a pinch of salt... I for one won't be attending any more RR days at JKM... :booty:

Neither will I. They don't allow cars with 4WD. Even if you say you'll disconnect the Haldex. They wouldn't allow my nitous'd ED30 on either. :sad1:

....To be fair, John, you have already been given the exact reasons why JKM don't run '4WD' Haldex on their rollers and also why they don't take the risk of running Nitrous cars when there are so many people attending who potentially might be injured if things went wrong.

We all know that Dyno results are a bit of a lottery, so why do some folks start bitching when they don't get the numbers they wanted to see.

LOL, I thought I was being fair Robin.

I agree that dyno results are lotteries, but there are quite a few who have changed parts/upgraded/done nothing at all, that have ended up with lower results from last time they were at JKM. Like you have always said, you go to JKM so you can directly compare your results and yet you aren't able to compare the current results to last time as you are down on power, but haven't got anything wrong!

A company cannot bang on about how accurate their dyno is and then have swings in bhp outputs on several cars that are healthy. Any other companies dyno would be slated for it yet JKM simply gets the thumbs up/head in the sand syndrome.

JKM are a premier company and their dyno needs to be too. If it isn't 100% and they know, or they have altered any parameters, then they should own up and let people know.

....Firstly, my comment to you about being fair was in response to what you posted about '4WD' Haldex and Nitrous. You are forgetting what you had been previously informed about JKM's policy regarding both '4WD' Haldex and Nitrous. If you recall, I specifically asked Jim at JKM about these policies and reported back to you directly what he had said.

In my case, I'm down on power because, as my plots showed, my AFR and boost was erratic.

I'm not forgetting Robin, I was making light of it as it is no biggie :happy2: I understand perfectly what JKM's policies are and I appreciate them, but don't have to agree with them.

AFR and boost being irratic may have been your issue (although I think you had a 20bhp loss didn't you?) but others had similar losses and even went to higher states of tune, knew their cars felt faster, yet had lower dyno readings.

I'm just asking the questions and don't expect anyone to be able to pinpoint them, just highlighting them as I see them.

IMO Robin, regular dyno days are good as they have shown up a potential problem... But would that problem be their if the RR was set up and loading the car right!? The ecu work on how they are being loaded... If you have not noticed a change out on the road, then what's to say there is a problem...

I'm not bitching, just concerned that I have spent a lot of money to get somewhere, and I'm apparently not there, or am I, and if I'm not, why am I not... I'm an engineer, if something's doesn't work, I wanna know why and how I can make it... But when it involves spending more money, of which the parts I have added should be giving me the results I want and are not then I have to question how they are being measured... I need to know what's causing this, as other have had better results with similar specs...

I'm even attending another rR day this Saturday to help me gauge this...

Would like to get to the bottom it... To only gain 9.3bhp over stage 2 is a bit of a let down, but there's many factors behind it I'm sure...

I'm like you, Dom, in that if something is appearing to be not working as it should, then I want to know why so that steps can be taken to solve it.  :happy2:

Consequently, in my particular case, because JKM know my car so well and have literally years of logs, I shall be asking Jim to do some logging when she is is there for her next service.

Meanwhile, she is feeling just as responsive as ever to drive. On JKM's rollers she has always fluctuated between about 250 and 270 bhp and always with smooth curves.

This is the main reason I have never made the 200+ mile trip down to one of JKM's days tbh.. Even though I have been tempted soooo many times to come down (mainly to see all you boys), I just know I would of felt like I had just chucked money down the drain..

I appreciate JKM have different methods when running cars and how they strap them down etc, but at the end of the day, it seems to be JKM figures against every other RR in the UK pretty much (apart from the odd 'happy' dynos).
For a car to be 50bhp down between Awesome's Dyno and JKM's within a couple of weeks is ridiculous IMO (unless suffering severe running issues, which is would appear not). Awesome may run some laughable torque and WHP figures sometimes, but the clutch bhp figures have always been fairly on par with most Dyno Dynamics rollers when the same car has been run on both.

Also, I have never known so many cars to have "running issues" when on JKM's RR days..
