Surely results arent too far from the mark, my buddies Focus RS made 292bhp 325ftlbs on saturday and we all know the struggle to do the quoted manfacturers 300bhp.
I agree. Mine made more than stock figures on a stock engine.
I've said this at least twice in this post
Last time James got 378bhp and 450ft/lb - exactly the same as on R-Techs rollers
Both Muckipup and Robin can justify their figures too. . .
I know my car is only Stage 1 Graeme, but Revo quote 260 Bhp and 285 lb/ft in their brochure for my car at Stage 1. So 232 can't be right can it? It got 253 at Storm Developments, and their RR has to be within 1 per cent accuracy as it's used for race cars.
In all honesty 260 has never ever ever been seen on a stage one GTI (on any rollers - except AMD's
). Its been well discussed on here that Tuners advertise the highest believable figure to sell their products.
Even 253bhp sounds very optimistic tbh
Yours was bang on the money for stage one, have a look on JKM's website - most of them make about 235bhp. Last time some poor lad only got 221bhp at stage one.
My stg1 GTI made 248bhp at R-Tech (with pre-cat removed) and 241bhp at JKM, which isn't a million miles away. Nick & R-tech only gets around high 230's / low 240's on his dyno @ stage one (with pre-cat present)
I bet you weren't far off the 285lb/ft though?
As Robin said, your curves are great and it drives well on the road. It's the area under the curve which is important and the reason it drives so well on the road
I'm not defending JKM as they always seem lower (whether by a bit or a lot) than other tuners. Other dyno operators have suggested JKM use strange settings on the dyno (sorry I don't understand the detail to go into it
) which may be why tuned cars read low but stock cars don't.
The Haldex situation seems strange as other DD operators can manage it with no problems - again, I'm no expert but other tuners with many years of experience are doing Haldex cars sucessfully.
I'm in no position to question the competency of a garage so I'm not going to
