Lol. My RR days are for "fun" an excuse to meet up have a laugh and sniff each other fumes..  My rr days are made to me fun, prizes for cars with low power ect..  If some one want to know how there car is running and what power it's at I will spend a good hour on the car logging and running then comparing data to give reasons why car is running x power on the dyno.

As for peak Bhp being the buzz number we all chase... What other number can we quote to give an indication of power?

Talking of RR days. Think we need to get one sorted Niki  :happy2:

We need to find some mad mathematically geek who will revolutionise the way we look at and brag about power.

A system is needed to work out a new reading which is based on the area under the power curves the area between peak hp and peak torque changed in to volume of power.   The car with most volume will have most power.

I would love to work out an equation for this...  But I is thick as pig sh*t with maths.

And as I came up with idea of volume based bragging right I want it to be called "Gower Power". Lol

;-)

Shall we have just a TFSI only RR day??  £25 for 2 power runs and 1 full load eddy current brake pull to work engine to the max??

The equation isnt the problem... its the problem that the RR graphs are not accurate enough to take readings.

And the rest of us "non-TFSI's" next door??

I'll arrange something. . .  :happy2:

This is what you need to do..... but you cannot read the bhp scale accurately enough. So take the readings from where the vertical lines meet the bhp line and divide by the number of readings... 10 in the case below

Rough average is 207bhp... not as impressive as 289

Isn't it just the average over a set number of samples?
2,000 RPM - 5,000 RPM
Sample data each 100 RPM
Plot data
Divide by 300 (number of Samples)
=
Gower Power

Probably wrong.

Can't say I've seen a gain in torque from stage 2 tbh... Oh well nevermind, i'm sure with all the suspension on it'll be awesome fun and look loads better lol :rolleye:

That's the sort of idea I had.  :congrats:

If the Gower power reading is sampled at every 250rpm from the torque curve between peak lbft and HP  then we can work from to get the reading in hp using the 5252 rule.

I would be good to get all dyno sw to work out these number instantly

Nick... do dynos output data? Or do they just draw the graph and thats that?

If yours outputs data... a simple excel page will do it.

I think mine will give all reading is CSV format or raw text?  I will see what options I have.

CSV would be good. Have a look... im sure there will be a way to process the data to output the average bhp between peak torque and maximum bhp  :happy2:
