It's an unusual looking car the MK7, has a very strange face.

Think they're getting a few into my local dealer on the 10th - looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

I was really hoping the side badges would have been recessed in slightly for more of a flush fit. Love some of the features but it's the little niggles that put me off eg having mirror controls next to the handle rather than on the door armrest (mk5) or on the door grab (mk6). Agree about the new replacement for the monzas.

How much wider than the mk5 will this car be? Will need a double garage the way it looks!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I think im a big fan of the mk7, love the red strip throught the headlights and the headlights themselves as those day running lights are awesome, also i really dig the gti badge on the wing, seems a nice little reflection on the old mk1/2 gtis! Do not like the wheels on the blue one the at all though, each to their own i guess.

I didn't think GTI mk7 will be out for a few months at least? Keen to have a look too  :happy2:

Nobody pick up on the fact it has an electric handbrake  hate those with a passion nothing wrong with a lever and cables! Looks really nice though. Not keen on any of the wheels

I love everything about it!

The styling, the GTi wing badges, red stripes in headlights, new style monzas (which are a bit like the optional 17's found on the MK4, often on V6 4 Motions) laser blue option (  :congrats: ) the honeycombe on the rear, Interlagos still available, looks really special, It's a beauty!

Can anyone shed some light on the engine? What is it exactly, what turbo does it have and what is it's tuning capability? I know it comes with a performance option with 228bhp and a diff, but what willthe likes of Revo be able to do Stage 1 etc?

Fun Golf: 2016 mk7 R DSG 3 door. Work Golf: 2015 mk7 1.4 TSI GT ACT 5 door.
Gone but not forgotten : mk2 Golf GTI 16v, mk4 Golf V6 4Motion, mk5 GTI Storm Developments Stage 1, mk5 GTI Revo Stage 1, BMW 330ci, Skoda Octavia VRS Revo Stage 2, BMW Z4 Sdrive35i.

I am liking that! I saw a mk7 gt in a showroom the other day and they do look better in the flesh than the magazine pictures. They seem to suit darker colours better although metallic is out for me as I fight a constant battle with my local feathered friends!!

From the rear to me it looks a bit like a seat leons backside! Is ut just me who thinks that ?

Certainly more than a hint to seat.
Candy White 5 door mk6 gti  and a escort cosworth for wasting money on!!

I suspect the similarity will be down to same floorpan and probably the change in design - I see more and more cars having sharper features.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
