VAG TDI Engine Intakes
« on: January 05, 2013, 07:39:17 pm »
You diesel boys with knowledge of the market - My last check on this subject was that there isn't really a 2.0 TDI aftermarket intake that has torque and engine response gains that are worth bothering with.

Is there anything out there that I may of overlooked that's worth investing in?

The vehicle is an MY10 Audi A3 S-Line Black Edition 2.0 TDI 170ps.
I'm looking at a map when the new car warranty expires in a couple of months time and may couple this with an aftermarket intake if there's something with proven gains?

Thanks guys.
Pete

Panel filter maybe. TBH no point in changing the airbox unless you want noise. The OEM box will flow 200bhp+ easy.

Okay Rich ta  :happy2:
I've got a Pipercross PF in there currently. Bargain at £27.

Am I off my rocker' if I'm to expect similar gains to that of the TFSI/TSI aftermarket intakes?

Ike you, I'm not aware of any aftermarket ones out there that are worth it. I'm currently running an ITG panel filter.

We have used stock filter and intake on some 260+ bhp builds, then removed the airbox completely and saw no extra power on the dyno.

Pipercross filter s all you need.
