Despite it's loss of a cylinder, it appears it isn't much if any lighter. Although it's had to confirm for sure.

Just been doing some searching.  Tuners have already been setting to work and its pretty highly strung already.  if you want over 300Hp then its a turbo upgrade.  But even then, the manifold is swan necked, really restrictive and also built into the head so cant be changed.

Thats put me off a fair amount.  Plus ive just seen that Skoda have the vat free deal on again

I'd be driving the VXR home. Huge soft spot for the GTC.

Don't forget 0% APR on them too and it's a lifetime warranty, not 5 years, limited to 100k miles and first owner though.

Shame the interior looks bloody awful, quite like the exterior though, especially with those massive wheels.

Dash brightens up if you add sat nav and the Recaro Sportster CS are standard. Take note VW.

Had a look at a Focus ST3 Estate in black today.  Looked much better than the hatch i think.  Must say i liked the interior as well.  Very snug.

Extended test drive next week.  The missus likes it as well.

The Astra has improved a lot by the looks of it, the last VXR was indeed Chav-tastic as coined by Richwig  :signLOL:

Not keen on the Focus, prefer the older one.

Lets not forget Mercedes offering as well, I think Mercedes needs this Hatch to work because most of their cars are a bit 'Grandad' imo.

The warranty and finance options do make the VXR a decent proposition.

The performance hot hatch market is getting very crowded. Does anyone think VW might be undone with pricing on the next generation or is the following still too strong?

We had a GTC VWR in a few months back and I was really smitten with it to be honest!  :innocent:
