Anyone relocated the charcoal canister?
« on: January 05, 2013, 08:05:03 pm »
Im wanting to relocate my charcoal canister to make room for a catch can. Has anyone done this before? Im aware that you can relocate it to the passenger side with extended hoses somewhere but unsure of where that is? Any pics or advice will help.

Cheers

What catch can are you looking at as both the Forge and BSH (street recirculation model) fit with the cannister in its original place.
Without traction power is nothing!

It needs mapping out though from what Alex has told me, otherwise you get EML on.

My car has the larger BSH can and is on the right side as you stand in front of the car looking at the engine bay in front of the battery... only issue with that location is that i also have the BSH intake and the "heatshield" metal piece to enclose the cone filter wont fit which is a PITA!

No worries. I've figured out were to relocate it to and I've bought new silicone hoses to do it. Will post pics ASAP.

Not actually ordered them yet. Was going to today. Why do, do you need flouro lined tubes? Ive just looked at flouro lines hoses and they dont seem to be as flexible as vacuum hosing which is going to cause problems!

If you don't use fluro lined hoses then the hoses will "sweat oil" on the outside after a while.

.... x 2 - You definitely should use fluoro lined hoses. They look like this.......................

I got rid of my BSH catchcan :pomppomp:  and I much prefer the Forge.

My fluoro lined hoses are fairly flexible.....................

You won't need the fluoro lines for relocating the carbon  canister though. No oil runs through it.
