What to say/do
« on: December 27, 2012, 06:41:05 pm »
Has new DMF, clutch and bearing fitted before Xmas, still has ticketing noise. Taking it back tomorrow for them to have a look at it, noticed tonight smell of clutch burning when using it on not steep incline coupled with notice gear change and drone/harch noise particular in 1st/2nd?? What could all these be if DMF/clutch/bearing changed and how best to explain tomorrow??

Just tell them your not happy and they had better sort it or your local vicar will be round to put a hex on them.

Always works for me.

And then I wake up when the alarm goes off at 7 am

Sounds to me they done it wrong or missed something else that was worn or broken.

Just a bit of an update, gearbox specialist having a look tomorrow. On start up the sound is very noticeable now and seem to be worse that before having DMF/cluch done, Very strange!!! Any ideas why it's got worse etc??  :rolleye:

So its not just me that does that!

Or whilst driving to the Garage thinking about what to say and thinking of threatening to stick the car where the sun doesn't shine and when you get there you end up stuttering like a loonatic!
How hard can it be?

Just an update on this... Lft car with garage Friday morning and told them I don't want I back until its fixed, be interested what they come back with what else needs doing since they replaced the clutch/DMF/bearing.

I would say the noises have got worse since I had it I.e. going up hill in third gear no probs power wise but a chattering noise from passenger side etc let along the whine noise in when in first or second. Hope they can sort it out as. Love the car!!!

Any more thoughts on what it could be from experiences???
