Golf R falling apart
« on: January 07, 2013, 03:40:22 pm »
Today after working last night I thought id wash the R an to my horror the little wing spoiler is hanging off  :sad1:  it appears to have one bolt  and 3 clips and some double sided tape  to fix it ,It pi$$ed me of so I yanked it off and have ordered a new one  £10.60  :surprised:  cheap enough !

It lasted 350 miles  I thouht it easier to just buy a new one than the hassle of getting it done on warranty

Part number 5K0.807.824  B

looks like one 5mm bolt and some tape to peel off and then clip it on do the bolt up .

I removed mine as i did not like them, but they are fixed with some tape and clips and 1 screw.

Very easy to remove, but it leave's a black sticky residue which i cleaned off with white spirit. I suggest you do the same and then the tape/ adhesive will stick.

Couldn't it have been repaired under warranty?

Would have thought so its a 30k plus car I would not touch it if parts started to fall off the body

Mods yes but way too many to stick in this little box
