Quick question about BBS VZ
« on: April 01, 2015, 05:20:20 pm »
I'm looking to get a set at some point to replace my Monzas (will put some winter tyres on those).

Regarding bolts - can the existing OEM bolts be used with the VZ wheels? I know aftermarket wheels usually need 60 degree taper bolts rather than radius seat OEM bolts, but I just want to double check what's what.

Incidentally I can't find the locking key for the bolts... just picked the car up yesterday. It's going to VW at the end of the week for a belt and service anyway so I'd assume they can help if it doesn't turn up.

And what's the deal with these torx heads on the bolts? Are they just covers or are they the bolts themselves...?

Ive BBS VZ's and your standard bolts will fine, no problem.

They are covers, you should have a little tool in side the spare wheel (along with the locking wheel nut) to pull them off.

Cool, cheers for the info.

As for the tool and nut... I've turned the car over, looked everywhere, to no avail. Like I said, maybe VW can help when it's in with them in a couple of days.

I've texted the dealer I got the car off to see if it's lying around somewhere; wouldn't be surprised if I get a no from him..!
