Adding to a Cat-Back Exhaust
« on: January 08, 2013, 09:35:34 pm »
Thinking about getting a remap in a few months and was thinking is there anything i can do to my Blueflame Cat-Back non res to make a few more BHP and move free flowing. I no i should of gone for a TBE but couldnt afford it at the time, and find them a little to loud for daily driving.

Would a downpipe/sport cat help?
Also would it give a more of a 'burble' or 'pop'

Any feedback would be appreciated :happy2:

Have you removed the precat from your down pipe, that would help.  :happy2:

An easy quick mod it to remove the downpipe and knock out the Pre-Cat, search on here for it. Easy as hell to do and that free up 3-8 BHP and sounds a bit deeper, also turbo spools up quicker

I havent as of yet. It seems a simple mod for a garage to do and seems everyone has has good benefits to doing it. But would i get the same gains as to getting a downpipe with sports cat? if i were to go to stage two would this still be ok with the pre car removed?

If you just get a downpipe and sports cat this shoud bolt on to your current cat back exhaust an then you will have a TBE.

Will need a donpipe and sports cat to go to stage 2.

Make it sound so simple now.  So if i add a downpipe and sports cat it becomes a tbe. I thought you had to change a few other bits. Can tell i dont no exhausts very well  :ashamed:

I am hoping the go to stage 2 eventually :happy2:

This is exactly what I did with my exhaust...

had a milltek car back fitted, then a few months later went for the pre-cat delete..however this didn't go well so ended up getting custom made downpipe plus 200 cell sports cat added = TBE  :happy2:

How did yours sounds from going from cat back to adding the downpipe and 200cell sports cat?

Does it matter if i dont get a blueflame sports cat? Assuming the pipe will be the same size.
