broke a sensor in engine but dnt know what it is

iv broke a sensor in my engine bay today. lent on it by mistake. i havent taken a pic so il try and describe where it is.
  if you look up from your high pressure fuel pump on the right hand side off the engine block. in the back right hand corner of the block there is a sensor which is like a little cylnder with a black electrical connection on top. any ideas. my explantion is pants. il see if i can find a pic

Looks like the same one I lent on and broke!

One right next to the brake reservoir on the left.

It's a cam position sensor/solenoid as far as I am aware.

I don't have a part no as I got a used one from James on here  :happy2:
