Sorry your right, I was referring to the srs tec piece. But yes you do have to trim ever so slightly the R32 bumper  

My bad! I read the question wrong but the more info the better.  

Does the SRS one have any extra heat protection on the reverse of it like on the R32 one?

Cheers guys.  I have the R32 valance in my garage and when I offered it up to the car (with the GTI valance still in place) it looked like either the exhaust would need moved sideways or the valance would need trimmed.  But you have confirmed it's the latter

      No, the SRS GTI insert is NOT textured, its fiberglass.
