No, I didn't know about Matroska aka MKV files. But I'm not sure how it would help me.

Yes, I am the sort of fella who really enjoys movies but most I see are on telly and also I only have Freeview and not Sky TV etc.

There's a movie on BBC4 tonight called "Lebanon" based on a true story of a tank crew - The trailer suggests it's quite a harsh movie though. I'll probably give it a go and can always switch it off if it doesn't draw me in.

The last two good movies I saw recently (on TV) were "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" original Swedish version and Liam Neeson in "Unknown".

No other forum members in my neck of the woods who are movie lovers.

I watched the original swedish version recently too (about 2 weeks ago?) was good, also seen the re-make with Daniel Craig prior to original version (enjoyed that also), personally I prefer going to cinema on my own, no woman asking me whats goin on constantly (One of my pet hates, we are watching the same film!!!!)  :signLOL:

Thought it was good, could have cut 40 minutes out easily.

Bollocks, I have a short attention span as it is. I can't stand films that are longer than they need to be - all of the Lord of the Rings movies spring to mind.

Thing is with LOR they already cut out so much of it compared to books

I agree. 2 hours is a reasonable length any more and it starts to get a bit tedious unless it is particularily gripping.

I love a good old LOTR weekend, when you watch all 3x extended movies B2B!!!

I can't think of anything worse...

Lucky the wife and i both love LOTR.

Note: That does not mean we go to conventions dressed as Elves, we are just fans of the books/films.

Yeah bascially cut out the (spoiler) Tarantino cameo scene, with his weird english accent (spoiler) which was about 10-15 mins.

Good to hear this is a good film :happy2:

Anything with Christoph Waltz in is worth a watch I found him totally captivating to watch in 'Inglourious Bast###ds' richly deserving of all the awards he went on to win!

I agree totally phil.  :happy2:

Christoph Waltz really does steal the show. He is great in Water for Elephants, but Inglorious he was amazing

Went to see it tonight. Thought it was absolutely great.

All the reviews I have read have suggested it was too long but I thought it was perfect.

Oh and the bags scene

Oh and the bags scene

Spencer 'Big Daddy' Bennett: [referring to the bag over his head] Damn. I can't see f*ckin' sh*t outta this thing.

Bradshaw: We ready or what?

Big Daddy: Ah hold on, I'm f*ckin' with my eye hole. [tears his bag] Oh sh*t. I just made it worse.

Redfish: Who made this goddamn sh*t?

O.B.: Willard's wife.

Willard: Well make your own goddamn mask!

Big Daddy: Look, nobody's sayin' they don't appreciate what Jenny did.

Redfish: Well if all I had to do was cut a hole in a bag I coulda cut it better than this!

O.B.: What about you Robert? Can you see?

Robert: Not too good. I mean, if I don't move my head I can see you pretty good. More or less. But when I start ridin' the bag's movin' all over and I'm ridin' blind.

Randy: [tearing his bag] sh*t. I just made mine worse. Anybody bring any extra bags?

Terry: No, nobody brought an extra bag!

Randy: I'm just askin'!

Doug: Do we have to wear 'em when we ride?

Big Daddy: Oh well sh*tfire! If you don't wear 'em as you ride up that just defeats the purpose!

Redfish: [ripping off bag] Well I can't see in this f*ckin' thing! I can't breathe in this f*ckin' thing and I can't ride in this f*ckin' thing!

Willard: Well f*ck all y'all I'm goin' home! Ya know I watched my wife work all day gettin' thirty bags together for you ungrateful sons of bitches, and all I can hear is criticize, criticize, criticize! From now on, don't ask me or mine for nothin'! [rides away]

Big Daddy: Now look, let's not forget why we're here. We gotta killer N****r, over that hill there, and we gotta make a lesson outta 'em.

Randy: Okay I'm confused. Are the bags on or off?

Robert: I think, we all think, the bags was a nice idea. But not pointin' any fingers, they coulda been done better. So how 'bout no bags this time, but next time, we do the bags right, and then we go full regalia.

Big Daddy: Wait a minute! I didn't say no bags.

Randy: But nobody can see.

Big Daddy: So?

Randy: So it'd be nice to see.

Big Daddy: Goddammit! This is a raid! I can't see! You can't see! So what? All that matters is, can the f*ckin' horse see! now That's a raid!
