Question for you all!

Qestion for you lads,

Going SantaPod next month, I have a £50 bet on a 1.6 Ford Fiesta Ztec S MK7

He swears blind he is going to win? Is he just very stupid or has he somehow got a chance? Car is standard as I know... I am in my 06' GTI MK5 DSG 70K miles, been well maintained.

Stats compared to a golf are laughable

Sounds like he have never been in a quicker car to me, the fiesta is the sh*t as far as he is concerned.

Launch control? Sorry for being thick I didn't know I had it? I imagine its best to put it in 'S' mode also?

a few figures from Parkers:

GTI (3dr)

Power       = 197 bhp
Weight      = 1485 kg
Power/Ton = 132.66 bhp
0-60          = 6.7s

Fiesta Zetec S

Power       = 118 bhp
Weight      = 1045 kg
Power/Ton = 112.92 bhp
0-60          = 9.6s

For launch put in S or Manual Mode. Make sure traction control is off. Hold down the brake for a least 1 second with your left foot. Then full throttle with your right foot!!

Then release brake when your ready!!  :driver:

x2 Practice your launches! DSG changes can make a real difference even if the other car is more powerful...

Will defo try that too. Going to have a good few runs on the 1/4 mile, & yes I do know him and is standard... He does say that my car has lost many horses, but it has been well maintained etc.

Also giving a go a Ford Fiesta Metal mk7! (stage 5 tuned?! wtf ford mean by this I don't know lol!)
