Helmets - Talk to me???

Ah! Thanks  . I was originally going for the Mag-6 until I saw the price of the new Mag-1 (£169). They actually look very similar.

Trouble is that I've got to pay for my prescription Oakleys next week which cost more than a helmet!

It's a bit tricky, as they do look the same - but basically the Mag 1 is then entry level and the Mag6 and newer 7 is the serious version. Good bargains to be had for the sake of having last year's model.

I tried all 3 version's on an,d there was a marked difference in comfort for each, the Mk 7 was really snug, compared to the Mk 1, and you could feel the price difference, but i couldn't afford the price tag. The Mk 6 also felt so much nicer on, compared to the Mk 1 so plumped for that.
If you do some searching you can find the Mag 6 pretty cheap against it's retail price, but i found they only had obscure sizes left.

I'm no longer surrounded by airbags with my Recaro's. I'm afraid that I'll only consider full-face: Steering wheel or other dashboard components flying into face? Flip-up most convenient though.

Huh - since when did the seat-mounted side airbags reach the head or face?  They don't - they'll probably top out at your armpit. 

Or have you disabled your curtain airbags too? 

So bike lids are ok. Visor removed of course.

It depends on specific requirements - the ring, being public road, wont have any restriction at all, but some closed circuits may specify an FIA homologated helmet.
