Stag Do Options....?
« on: January 14, 2013, 11:33:36 am »
Well guys, the big day is drawing close  :scared: which obviously means the stag do is also.  :jumpmove:

Now I have a few thoughts on this already, but wanted to pick some of your brains on here if possible and keep my options open for other suggestions?

I am getting married on July 13th (this year obviously), so the stag do is looking to be around end of May - end of June (although there is some flexibility there). Some of the options I have revolve around a going abroad and will most likely involve cars somewhere down the line  Here are some thoughts I have already :-

Ring trip - Including some stop-offs for some nights out. Now I know many of you on here have been and go regularly, so any advice on how to incorporate a Stag do would be well received.

F1 GP Trip - Along the similar lines of the Ring trip, but attending a European GP instead. Only options that really fit in with my dates are Barcelona (12th May), Monaco (26th May) and German (7th July). None of these are really ideal as Barcelona is a bit early, Monaco will no doubt be silly £ and Germany is a bit close for comfort although all 3 are possibly doable.. Not looking at British GP as do this every year and fancy a change.

I shall be inviting around 12-15 people (anymore than that is just going to be a PITA imo) and I want to keep my budget to around £500 if at all possible (this maybe rather optimistic I'm guessing)?
So chaps, any suggestions/experience would be much appreciated...  :drinking:

A friend of mine gets married later this year and we've discussed buying a £500 car between 2 people and doing a ring trip. Reckon it would be a good laugh if theres around 7 or 8 cars :happy2:

Not sure how many will make it back to blighty tho!!!

I went to the German Grand Prix last year, brilliant fun.  Going again this year.  Make sure you stay in the germans campsite not the english one, its much more fun.

See you there :happy2:

ha ha we never went. too many married men were too scarted to go so it would have split the group in too, so just went a tame lap dancing bar instead

Cheers for the tips lads..  :happy2:

The Ring is looking like a good option and would be great if we could combine that with the German GP. Will the Nordschleife be open to general public on GP weekend though? I'm guessing not...

How much was the German GP weekend roughly mate? Tickets, accommodation?

Not 100% sure about F1 weekend but when the GP circuit has an event like rock am ring etc they use the  nordschleife for camping
