With tiv mapping, he made 2bhp more than mine and mine had the pre-cat removed. There is definetly gains to be had with it

Nick recons he can get 300bhp safely out of a K03 but will take him 6months + to achieve it

hmmm, i wonder with all the other mods which i have, would that figure be higher!? As much as i love the guys, and the work they have done for me, would a 160 mile round trip justify a mere 2bhp, lol!!??  :rolleye:

I'll have to wait 6 months then. This sounds interesting :). What would have to be changed for 300bhp  :driver:

The reason for TIV

The anti-jerk function detects oscillations of the power train and damps them out by applying opposing-phase torque interventions. The torque intervention is converted into an ignition angle offset by the torque interface.

In order to damp the power train oscillation efficiently, the torque intervention should counteract engine speed oscillations. Thereby the same effect is achieved as if the attenuation coefficient of the drive shaft is increased.

You can have more power/ Performance but still have exact same peak bhp.  Peak bhp is only a reading at 1rpm point to show where the max hp point is.

Performance tuning is about getting as much power from the whole power band.  The more average bhp the quicker the car.

I would be happy having a car with 230bhp and 200bhp average over a car with 250bhp and 180bhp average.

2hp peak is nothing, it could be a cooler day, better fuel.

The TIV and TIV+ mapping is allowing us to unlock power from the whole of the torque curve its not aimed to get peak numbers.   The TIV mapping also transforms the car on part throttle light load driving.   At the moment we are the only company to offer this full TIV reduction mapping for ME9 - MED9 and ME7.5 ecus.  It wont be long before everyone catches up again..lol

Mk5 stock vs stage1 custom with TIV+

1.8T K04 with stage2 and high flow manifold.  This graph shows the same map back to back, the smoother map has just the TIV reduction added, so its running the exact same boost, fuel and timing requests. More power and EGTs where 120deg lower.
This both runs have a low filter in the dyno settings so show whats going on during the run.  Most rolling roads will have high filters and the lower run with interventions would look smooth bust still lower power. having a low filter allows us to see where the opposing-phase torque interventions happen.  But when we allow the timing with no interventions the graph is smooth and a lot stronger

Nick r tech is that the graph from the map you done on my car yesterday

The top graph is.

The R-Tech stage1 custom maps are only £290 all inc,  That includes full health check, smoke test, stock dyno runs with data logging, the map custom adjusted on the dyno ect..  The map base code will have all the latest R-Tech mapping methods TiV+, and you can opt to have full 1:1 linear throttle maps, then later on in the year have the option run run 5 boost maps which can be changed on the fly by the driver.

Hi Nick, may i ask plse what you mean by 'on the fly'?? Are these 5 boost maps something that current R Tech tuned cars can obtain if they pay you another visit??

Cheers

Andrew

When driving a long full throttle the driver "taps" the brake just to trigger the brake light this will then make engine light flash x amount of times, one flash full boost map1, 2 flash lower boost map 2 ect..   There are other methods to switch the map but the throttle v brake combination works the best from the feedback we are getting.  The maps can also be just switched with the engine off.

Or you can switch the map so each gear has its own boost setting which is ideal for the wet winter months or 1/4 racing.

This is a big turbo conversion 1.8t Leon running N75 with our map switch.  it take about 1 second to switch settings.
