Yes I got a massively overpriced BK, did you buy anything? Checked and no fine, unless a council fine I will not pay as I don't think I am legally obliged to

hahah it's a rip off. Once upon a time I had a card which meant I could literally get ANYTHING for £4. Good times.

It because they impose a 2hr limit on free parking so they can charge people who stay in the hotel or sleep in their car/lorry and use the showers etc

Another reason is to keep a goof turnover of cars, so everyone that comes into the car park can actually park. Clearly not an issue on the night in question but the principlal is there.

For parking eye to get your details, they would have had to pay for them, so you can feel slightly better if you got one-ish!!

They pay something like £1/2. It's small fry to them. Proportionally, the money they pay for your details isn't even a drop in the ocean for them. If one person pays up, that's potentially 100 DVLA checks.

This! The services don't get anything. It's all subcontracted out so Parking Eye run it as a business themselves.

I've had a few from parking eye in the past, think they patrol a few of the Starbucks and Maccy d's along bath road near Heathrow... As mentioned before... Best thing is to outright ignore them. They will send a 'formal' looking, threatening letter with a fancy border demanding payment or face bailiffs. All a load of b@llocks!!

Believe they were investigated by watchdog a while back too, again same advice was offered.. ignore them.
