Northern Ireland Meet
« on: January 15, 2013, 02:34:29 pm »
Well Guy’s I have seen it pop up a few times about a meet in Northern Ireland.  :happy2:
If we could get all the N.Ireland/Ireland folk and of course, anybody further afield is more than welcome to go and meet up, that would be great…  :congrats:

I would like to get your thoughts on the location and a suitable date to have a meet etc.

Would you like to have somewhere to go grab some food / tea coffee / soft drink?  :drinking:
Or
Somewhere that has a great location to have photos taken?
Or
Both?

Please, all and any ideas would be more than welcome.

If we could find where most people would be coming from, find somewhere central… Just a thought…

Please post your thoughts on this and where you are from.

Maybe come summertime we could head for a Drag day, Track day or Rolling Road day for some fun!  :driver:

Sounds good. I'd be interested. :happy2:

Maybe somewhere central so people from NSEW have a similar sort of distance to travel?

Just a couple of ideas -

The Argory is a National Trust property near Dungannon. Lovely house and grounds (and coffee shop) - could make some good photos. Might be a bit odd though with a bunch of 'yobs with modified cars' at a stately home!? (I'd say the staff would love it though-a change from the oap coaches lol!).

Carlingford, just over the border from Newry, is a beautiful spot too.

^^^Just off the top of my head!

This is a great idea Neil, it would be great to get a Meet organised for the Irish Mk5 contingent. Couple of good ideas there PJ for a venue. Another I'd thought of was maybe Sprucefield where we could all meet and then perhaps take a run up the Antrim Coast to Portrush. Just a thought. I'm definitely in and if any of our mainland brethren at up for a wee run over I'm sure I could sort some accommodation out for you guys. As for date of Meet April/May time would be good as this is usually when our summer falls now!

Excellent idea.

I'm definitely up for this. I'm based around Lisburn but would happily meet anywhere that suited others.
Should also be able round up one or two other mk5 GTI's!

Like the idea of a coffee and a small road trip to a good photo location.
