New edition 30 owner
« on: January 16, 2013, 05:58:08 am »
Hi all,

Picked up my edition 30 last week having previously owned an R56 cooper s.

Extras I can see are an armrest and heated seats.

Made up with the car so far! Got a couple of things to fit so far inc 42dd gearshift bushes and an ecs dogbone mount to start me off... Also getting booked in for a cambelt and service with Simon Whittaker in Doncaster as I've heard good things about his work. Other than that, the wheels need a bit of a refurb and it needs a pretty big polish!

Tom

Welcome to the forum from a fellow ED30 owner  :happy2:

You need to use Photobucket to download your photos mate.

How does the ED30 compare to your old mini?

Ah I see, I take it Flickr disagrees with the forum? Best get a photobucket account on the go!
In the meantime, it's metallic black number 823  :congrats:

On the subject of comparisons, the golf is such a more refined and effortless car, don't get me wrong I love the mini for what it is - a quick, fun car. I've always wanted a mk5 though and I've known this particular one since new so would have been foolish not to have snapped it up at the price offered  :star:

Welcome from another ED30 owner . We also have a Mini Cooper diesel 58 reg . What did you think of your R56's build quality ? We are not impressed but the 60mpg wins all day long

Thanks kalpsn2000  :happy2:

My mini didn't have bad build quality ie nothing falling apart, but I found engine reliability and drivetrain components pretty poor- replaced the electric thermostat, high pressure fuel pump, new gearbox... Shame as it was a great little car but lost confidence in it :(
