I fitted HID's yesterday. I have aftermarket projector lenses. I put in 3000k ones hoping they would be yellow, but slightly disappointed as they were pretty similar to normal halogen in terms of colour. The beam is a lot brighter though, and definitely a good mod.

4100k is the best xenon colour to fit - this is the OEM colour and provides the best light output and look

If you want a little more blue get 5000k.

yea standard gti lights, beam pattern is fine, if the headlights are raised all the way up they are blinding for oncoming drivers but they should be down on normal roads anyway :)
