Hey Scott,,,,,,,,,,, how's tricks,,,,,,,,,,,,
not bad mate, hows things at your end.
in the last month had to replace the brakes on the wifes car,
got the garage to change my spark plugs to high quality ones and turned out the ones in the car looked like the originals ( tut tut ) bad servicing from previous owner's garage as the plugs have never been ticked ever in the manual.
got an engine flush,
replaced brake fluid,
got an oil change to flush out the bog standard 10w40 the previous owners garage prob had in there and got them to put in some castrol edge fst 5w30 if i remember right.
no real difference to be honest but the guy said that the oil that came out wasnt to grubby, i think maybe the car is starting better first thing in the morning when it is freezing outside and maybe im mad but the car sounds a bit growlier ( if that's a word lol )
found a local garage to fit my chrome interior complete switch set and also my mk6 mfsw i got from eddie nl around 6 weeks ago,
will get them fitted next week and hope they know what they are doing with the wheel ( eddie has very kindly offered his services over the phone if they get stuck )
very kind of him and hopefully if they can do this job ok it opens up the possibility of buying more mods from eddie as well.
i phoned vw and twisted there arm on fitting the wheel and they finally agreed but said it could be up to a 4 hour job  :stupid: just in case they needed the time they said,,,,, man thats £400,,, screw that.
golfman has very kindly offered to do the job but its just the distance as he is 70 miles away so fingers crossed my garage does a good job plus they said i can wait as its only 2 hours max to do the 2 jobs and a courtesy car if they balls it up lol ( its the westhill garage in aberdeenshire ) very nice guys and used them for years but didnt realise at first they can do this type of mod,,,, i thought it was beyond them as the mk6 mfsw seems a challenge for most people even vw.
on another note british gas came 2 days ago to fit a new heat exchanger to my 12 year old boiler and with the news that this part is now no longer available so chances are on the next breakdown i will have to find £4k or so for a new boiler,,,, i have known for a while this would be coming,,,,, but guess what happened,,,,, the muppet couldnt get the part out so he tried to prise it with a screwdriver and a hammer  :surprised: and ended up missing the bit he was trying to hit by around 3mm resulting in putting a hole through the internal case which is part of the boiler frame itself  :surprised:
completelly screwed the whole boiler and condemned it  :surprised:
i wasnt home and he tried to worm out of the mistake calling it other technical things to the wife, not knowing the wife is just completing her 3rd degree in electrical and safety engineering lol.
i was on the phone to the wife at the time when the engineer tried to explain the fault to her and i was driving along in my car for 20 minutes or so overhearing the conversation between her and the engineer ( thanks to eddie nl supplying a good speaker phone kit ) and i tell you it was funny as he tried to bamboozle her with technical jargon not realising her engineering qualifications lol ) all be it she oversees oil rigs and not boilers but same principal really.
bottom line 24hrs later after senior engineer visit and then the services manager visit is a brand new top of the range boiler FREE OF CHARGE,,, bloody result that,,, well happy, £4k saved, good old britgish gas engineers lol.
to be fair the service manager was brand new but the guy who cused the fault was a muppet.
anyway hope you had a good holiday period and happy new year to you and your family

good condition and been in car for over 4 years
instructions
code etc
some people thinking they are maybe worth as little as £5 but still managed to get a decent price with the right advert

So what's your point coming back on here to say I told you so. You don't listen to anyone's advice anyway even though you non stop ask for it.
Please use the search button more for your answers instead of having 10 page threads over something simple which always end in you getting wound up. If you don't your time back on here will end up being painful and short again.  :happy2:

i hear you, its just the wife is ill just now and with the 2 kiddies at school, and nursery added with ballet / swimming classes,,, pta meetings etc etc etc it just seems i never have the time to dedicate a whole day for the 140 mile round trip and fitting, hence the local search
