I have got these to go round corners better looks are secondary but do count a little .
Anyway must dash i have just had the phone call saying the car is ready. Cheers for your help.

While i have you what do you think about the suggestion of uprating the bushes on the front wishbone as well i think VW racing mentioned it may also be a good idea to RedRobin but they have not looked into it as yet for him. so whats your thought's.

Uprated poly bushes on the leading edge of the lower wishbones (or indeed on any suspension component) are a bit of a grey area.  Yes, they will marginally improve the feel, and generall handling.  However, they are no where near as compliant as the standard rubber bushes.  Poly suspension bushes, which include the WALK, will give more noise through the car, and will create much more harsh "feelings" inside the car.  If you have a wife or kids, or generally enjoy the refinement of the car, I would just stick with the WALK, and leave the front bushes standard.

Just remember that VW Racing are race car or motorsport specialists.  You need someone who knows what works best on the road.

....Absolutely true of course about VWR. However, they are very very aware of my wishes for their work on my car to be suitable for fast road use rather than track. For example, they have advised me that KW V2 would be more appropriate for me than V3 and they have also been trying out various spring ratings - All with the aim of road rather than track use. They have gone as far as putting my discussed setup on their demo GTI for me to drive before making final decisions.

Regarding their suggestion of replacing the stock front wishbone bushes, my understanding is that this would better match the bushes integrated in the Anti-lifts - A more equally balanced compliance. I have already driven a GTI highly modified by VWR with V3 and full poly bush kit throughout, and I was surprised how comfortable it was.

But, of course, what feels harsh or too noisy to one person may not be to another - Hence the demo car setup for me, though it's on 19's.

:P  << I love this smilie!! :happy2:

[Good to see you here, Sean]

Well it's going to take a little while for him to get into what the differences are - A good few miles of differing types of roads.

So come on TC!!!!

OK i Only drove it on the motorway and a few roundabouts in the rush hour as well so not much to report yet.
But the anti lift kit is amazing.
The steering instantly felt at least 10 % heavier and the car seems to just stay in a straight line when you take your hands off the wheel its hard to describe but it feels like its being sucked down. the heavier steering is a bonus its in no way uncomfortable just feels more secure.
I was dropping back in traffic at roundabouts then flooring it. I wasn't going mental but i could not get it to hop at all as i exited l the roundabouts,  there was no tc light and no bounce. also i had to modify the line i was taking as each time i came close to catching the curb on the inside. normally i adjust the line to take into account the roll and slight drift. but now i have to turn in later, it was just going exactly were i pointed it. This was clearly noticeable.  If it turns out like it feels its going to, it will be one great mod for the money, i just have to be careful that all this wasn't in my head. and the usual placebo effect.
As for the coilovers i can really only tell you about the ride quality at this stage, it felt a little bit firmer but not as much as i thought it was going to. the noticeable thing though was how quickly it settled after hitting a pot hole or rut one quick dip and it was planted again instantly.
Now the downside to my choice of coilovers. Dampening adjustment is easy peasy  its a one minute job. but height adjustment aint so. the rear coils need to come off the car to adjust them and the front ones you can  only just get a turn on the spanner in the space.
so with this in mind Votex set the back at a perfect height for me and the front looks a bit high but can be altered to suit plus they should settle 5-10 mil over the next couple of days. i took a pic but its not to clear. roll on tomorrow i cant wait.  :driver:

Looks really nice that TC. As you say it will eventually get lower when all has settled. You are well on the way with the mods now, what other plans do you have?

Most definitely bigger brakes i can see myself upside down in a farmers field somewhere soon if i dont.
Then either the works vs-xx wheels, or the R32 rear bumper if i can get it plastic welded into a one piece bumper.   :rolleye:
