GTI sledge.
« on: January 19, 2013, 05:38:00 pm »
I bought this a few years ago off someone on another forum.  Anybody else got one? Or know how many were made? Any idea if they are still sold? Apparently when it was new you could buy them from dealers but I've not seen any since, and never known anybody else to have one.

I want to use it because I think it would be more fun than a normal sledge, being able to steer/brake etc. But part of me wants to keep it unused in case it becomes a collectors item.  What do you think?

A quick look at the current VW merchandise suggests they are no longer available.  None on Ebay either.  I wonder how many were actually sold   They were quite pricy IIRC so probably not many!

Saw one in my local dealer (Bristol Heritage) a couple of weeks back for I think £40. It was definitely a geniune VW black
GTI sledge but it may not have been a exactly the same as that shown in the OP.

Great find! If we had guaranteed snow I'd consider it. It is rather a lot though.
