NON oem front grill quality
« on: January 22, 2013, 10:38:03 am »
Has anyone bought one of these from eBay, is there much difference in terms of quality or fitting issues as they seem to be selling for around £40 but not sure if that's really worth buying if the fit/finish quality over the OEM one from VW is massively different.

Would like to change mine as its showing its 60k worth of impacts ..

I'm not sure if it is the same item but I got mine from Awesome and the quality seems as good as OEM.  (It is possible that the Awesome one is OEM?)

Someone on here got reversed into a little while back and the grill was replaced from the likes of Awsome GTI. It seemed to fit VERY well and they were pleased with it. I would say vinyl wrapping is an option. I think its luck of the draw if you buy non OEM.

It was a red GTi for referance

Main reason is although thought it obvious is I want it looking OEM and not Satin looking...unless they do it in Black Gloss Dip, but the cost of a can is half of what a cost of a new grill would do. Not worth it IMO. Thankyou for the photos.

Not 100% sure Ian, but I'm sure it will be into £100+

At dealers tomorrow for MOT so will check it out.
