talk to me about lowering the edition 30......

I ran the Eibach coilovers on the GTI just as Hurdy is and for the money I thought they were top notch, if money was no object I'd probably go for some KW's or Bilstein coilovers.

The Eibach Pro S coilovers are great. I don't really need damping and spring rate adjustment, so they are a really good set - especially for what I paid for them

They have now done approx 10k miles and are still as tight as ever.

So we have

H&R 30mm drop GTI Springs only 200 euros
H&R Suspension Kit GTI 20-35mm drop 520 euros

The kit is including dampers

Does anyone have the part number for the H&R's? I've found a set on German eBay but would just like to double check that they are the genuine thing (and what I am actually after). Sadly my German language has seen better days 

I think the dampers will atleast be up to the challenge for the time I will own the car. People run into trouble when they fit lowering springs to dampers that have seen 70k etc. Then you just asking for trouble.

Think of it this way: by the time they are shagged, you will be tempted with another mod ----> new dampers.

I need to have a go in Flora's to give some accurate feedback but I don't get why the H&R's are so much more than Eibach's? 

Saying that they are much cheaper from Orange Tuning!

i have spoken to loads of people about this now and the eibach sportlines lower the gti/ed 30 by 25 mm as do the h&r s , the h&r are aparently a little stiffer than the eibach s
         eibach say that  dont need to change the standard dampers unless they have covered a fair few miles as in good condition the spring will not wear them at all , if they are fairly worn the new springs will in deed speed up there demise !!!!!
 if you go for the eibach dampers they are same as oem but 25% uprated !!!
          told this by eibach them selves they are just up the road from me 
  having sportlines fitted on thursday

Get the pics up when you have them fitted.  I have a set in my garage and need something to tide me over!

This first is all of the information from the springs:

KBA 91056
29176 VA (F) - the F means front spring to clear that up.

And the information from the box:

SPORTFEDERSATZ
MIT ABE
29176 - 1
Sportfadersatz fur VW golf V GTi+GT sport typ 1K, Seat Leon typ 1P inkl FR.
rot beschichet VA: 29176VA (F)/ HA: 29176HA (R)

All you need to ensure is that the part number is 29176 and this should cover you. You may also find that in the pics the springs are illustrated with a black picture but the springs are actually red.

had the eibach s fitted this morning and i have to say i am very pleased with them , the ride is pretty much as it was (may be slightly crashier over the potholes but could be in my head !!!!) it has lowered it by 23 mm and imo its spot on just waiting for h&r 8 mm spacers now for the rear
              any one remembering my old fk spacers that broke ???  and the thread on customer service VENOM MOTORSPORT ARE FU$&*"*  USE LESS AND WOULD NT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY ONE !!!!!!

will put a few pics on later today !! had my oem sachs dampers properly tested too cause had eibach dampers ready to go on too but they said i did nt need them as mine were as new  
  and every one that asked about my wheels , i m sticking with them for now dont think i need 19 s now its been lowered but who knows cant get them oz s out my head !!!!!!!!!!
