Refurbed wheels - which socket?

My alloys are in being refurbed, so I guess it's time to buy a socket that offers a bit of protection when removing bolts.
What are you guys using?
Would this suffice?

I just use a halfords professional 17mm deep 1/2" drive socket with a layer of electrical loom fabric tape wrapped around it. Works a treat.

I bought that other one, but will probably wrap it in felt electrical tape after it's been used a few times
