Cam follower replacement on a 2005 Gti
« on: January 25, 2013, 12:05:23 pm »
Hi,

I went to try and replace my cam follower today but I was unable to as my car being an earlier model has a metal fuel line on one of the connections instead of a rubber one (could not get enough space to undo this one). So I was unable to get enough movement to get in and remove the old follower. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Ian

eBay, or online, have to search for it unfortunately. Not a very common tool bit!

Check with a local engineering tool supplier using yellow pages.

When I done this on my 55 plate I couldn't get that pipe off either so I undone the clips holding the pipe in place further down it and it allowed me to pull the pump out far enough to change the follower
