Hi I've noticed that sometimes I'm struggling getting it in and out of gear and also when on flat surface I can be in 1st with clutch all the way down and it's still biting and taking me forward, any ideas? Thanks 2.0 tdi gt

Seems that your clutch is dragging. Assuming it is a hydraulic clutch I would try bleeding the slave cylinder. If cable clutch try adjusting it.

No a local mechanic, I don't see how it's a new clutch when it's biting more then slipping..... Also was told by another mechanic to bleed the clutch, I have no idea to be frank

Does the pedal feel normal? Any play at the start kf the travel?

Peddle feels fine, car sets off quick as its already on bite and the last 3-4 of travel on the way up don't do anything on the clutch

You on high miles? Sounds like the cluch friction plate has worn out and the cover plate is at full adjustment.

I'm at 125k with a gt tdi, had a flywheel and clutch put in 4k ago but these had done 60k I believe, this was when I first bought the car

Seems odd to put a 60k used clutch in a car. Only around 200 for a brand new clutch kit.

Was the cover plate that was fitted adjusted back to original 'new' settings with a special tool or just chucked in?

I believe it was flywheel and clutch that was done as the fly wheel was beyond gone, I couldn't tell you, my guess would be chucked in

Yes. When it reaches full adjustment then it cant release the cover. If a used one is refitted then it needs adjusting back to original new adjustment.
