Going from blue fin to Revo or r tech stage 1
« on: January 27, 2013, 05:33:00 pm »
Basically will I see a noticeable difference ?
I'm running stage 1 blue fin at the moment and it doesn't feel like 300 bhp ?
Maybe need to check my dv how do I do it ?
Or will I not see 300 with just a map?

You obviously have K04.
What sort of lb/ft is the Stage 1 bluefin map for Ed.30?  This is what you feel more than the power.  I would've thought at least 300lb/ft.
Check DV by getting the motor in the air on the TFSI, easier on the TSI from engine bay.  Probably best to just buy a new rev G and have it fitted.
300hp on stage 1 K04 is certainly achievable.
Noteworthy that the K04 comes in later than the K03 probably around 3.2k and above, but holds for longer and much more powerful.

No need to "get it in the air" on KO4  :happy2:

Damn, learn something everyday, they relocated the DV on the K04... thought it was just TSI, my bad.

APR have the 50% off deal if you change to their map from a competitors map so a cheaper route to more power.

I've no experience of bluefin on the KO4 but i had it on the KO3 tfsi and it was much slower than all the other maps such as APR, REVO, Shark etc.  That said o the kO4 Hedges old ed30  with bluefin matched the revo cars for power iirc

They say around 288 ft/lb and 307 bhp on their site.
I may get it rolling roaded this week for piece of mind!

Oh so they are making the same power on ed30's?

The TSI has the DV in the turbo like K03's.

Going from one big tuner to another won't make much difference, maybe a few HP in it

I heard that one of the Superchips mappers has recently gone to Revo - so you maybe paying the same again for the same map

R-Tech custom with tiv mapping will give you a set up tailored to your driving style, Free fault finding and a lifetime of aftercare. May only give a few bhp above bluefin but is cheaper and set up exactly to your mods. I'm yet to hear a bad word about them. . .

You pays ya money, you take your choice  :happy2:

Well I have blue fin already so might not be worth the change at all?'

Your only stage 1 so the difference is minimal between all the tuners. Differences begin to appear the higher tuned the car becomes

I think Bluefin always seems a bit low on torque in comparison to the other tuners... however, this may preserve your clutch and also help you put the power down into the corners etc.. 300+bhp is not to be sniffed at m8 :happy2:

No defiantly not!
Just doesn't feel 300 bhp
I used to drive a 280 bhp stage 2 focus st and it seems around the same just less push in the seat as the 5 cylinders make so much torque!
Think I may get it rolling roaded for piece of mind!
I had my st done at the same place so will have something to compare it to!

Sounds sensbile to get it on the rollers.  The ST should be similar to the ED.30 in the torque department after remaps - perhaps the ST would hold the torque for longer, do you have any maps to compare?
