....Yes, the Y-configuration quad pipes don't make any significant sound difference. However, the virtually empty rear box plus independent quad pipes make a huge difference - Such that a small resonator box is necessary.

When I'm ready, Milltek are going to build me a slightly louder resonator box to test but I want to get used to the sound mix with my new engine mounts first. Milltek will then subsequently be able to publicly offer two versions of 'loudness' in their usual way.

....The Milltek system only makes a significant addition/contribution to power when you have the TBE (High-flow cat) AND you have a remap. The ordinary cat-back will improve throttle response and possibly add 2 or 3 bhp but for performance you need a TBE (includes downpipe) AND a reputable remap (from a tuner whom Milltek have tested with).

one of these days I'm gonna off the quads and stump up for a twin, with of course an ed30 rear me thinks. ......

Just a mad thought..could I cut and seal one of the outlets thereby leaving a twin in situ? Or is that totally mental **runs away waving arms like a gay man*** sorry just thinking out loud....

....I would have a word with someone at Milltek like Charlie before doing anything like that - It may interfere with the exhaust gasses flow - Best to ask the experts who know how their product works.

....Well, I expect they would confirm my thinking (in ignorance of the technical details) that it would interfere with the flow and therefore they wouldn't be able to support their product guarantee. I'm sure that Milltek wouldn't be unfriendly to you though if you contacted them.

I'm sure they wouldn't advise it but the bottom line is that it is yours to do what you want with. However, I think it might be easier for you to buy a second-hand Milltek twin pipe backbox section.

....That greatly surprises me. I assume you haven't taken the opportunity to speak to them in person (particularly Phil Millington) at any of the shows - Inters and Goodwood being the most recent.

Who have you been trying to get a response from at Milltek, Steve? (I'll help if I can).

My Luna Cupra got damaged so stripped it and bought another which already had milly tbe hence my one in the for sale section.

Thanks for the offer of help Robin but I won't be bothering with Milltek again and am on the look out for a different exhaust system.

I have tried a number of times to contact them via their website and directly via email.

If a company ignores customer communications like that I wouldn't waste my time chasing them down at shows TBH  :fighting:
