iPhone Backup.......
« on: January 28, 2013, 08:18:38 pm »
Hopefully my new iPhone should be here tomorrow and i'm just wanting to double check which is the best way to back everything up to my iTunes, mainly my contacts and photos

I've plugged it into my computer and Synced it and done a Backup. Will this have saved all my contacts and Photos or do I have to select that option from the menu somewhere?!

Many thanks in advance and sorry for the novice questions :ashamed:

I just backup all my important stuff on iCloud. Before that I transfer all my pictures to the PC so they are saved.
iCloud is good because you login with your apple ID then it basically clones how your phone was before and no need to connect to pc

It wont backup save games etc though. Only games/apps that support iCloud, which are few and far between.

The easiest way is to do a full backup via iTunes, then restore the backup on to your new phone via iTunes again.

Another quick question.......

Does backing up to itunes save your text messages and transfer them to your new phone?!

If not, whats the best way to do that?!

Thanks,
Matt

Yes, the backup to iTunes will back up every single aspect from the phone. If you make sure you do an iTunes restore on the new phone, it will transfer everything and every single setting.
