Apple TV - buffering issue

Trying to watch Bourne Legacy as have decided to start d/l films into the i cloud, and it kept buffering.

Could this be because there the wi-fi speed needs to be increased/bettered? I turned off the i pad, i pod etc so less signals going to fewer devices but it was still doing it. My i phone was still on.

anyone had any such experience as was putting me off buying Skyfall later this month in similiar format, might stick to blu ray hard disc

hi andrew, ummm, i will have to check  i take very little interest in such things, my wife is more of a techie than me - apart from when it comes to cars and she glazes over lol

It could be a whole number of things.  Firstly I'd check your connection speed via speedtest.net
Find out much data your trying to stream, was it 1080p?
Switch everything off and back on again and retry.  Sometimes ISP's limit your speeds after you've been on the same ip for a while, a reboot will reset all that.
Are you able to test connection to the router via cat 5 rather than wireless?

I used to have this issue. I ended up buying power line adapters and they work perfectly

Google netgear powerline adapters 200Mbps

+1 for the power adapters use these around the house and run my webserver from the back room to the tinternet through a set never had a problem.

As you're using the wifi connection at the moment, use the speedtest app on your phone or ipad to see what speed you're getting as opposed to doing it on the pooter. The wifi speed will always be lower and it'd be better to do it where the ATV is placed. You need around 20Mb to stream HD nicely I've found and even then it can stutter and pause now and then. The powerline kit will definitely help, but make sure the computer is wired to the router as well as the ATV or you'll probably still have the same issue...

re booted it and watched Ted and it seemed fine.

The router andrew says Billion ADSL, not sure but think have the box somewhere still
