Mine is finally ready for fitting too...  :happy2:

Matt metallic grey along with gloss black, deleted the Audi badge and filled in the recess, re-painted the TFSI badge section and finished off with 3M gloss carbon vinyl. Don't know if the 3M vinyl will last under the bonnet but it is gloss black underneath, so no biggie to remove if needed
Looks great! Do you use normal automotive primer / paint for the engine cover? Or do you need special plastic primers?

....Now THAT, Gentlemen, is how to make a TTS engine cover look both stylish and more appropriate on a Golf. None of this Audi badging rubbish on a Volkswagen!

Finally fitted!

I was surprised how close the engine cover colour is to the Steel Grey body colour even though it isn't the same grey ( or even meant to be )  as the Matt colour. Plus the R8 oil filler cap goes nicely with the MAF housing.

well, got it out - prised the audi badge off - easy as peas.  Had a quick look and managed to get the middle section off by releasing the clips along the bottom (you can just get to the under the foam) then putting my hand under prised them out of the other wise - so its now in 3 bits.

Going to see if I can at least smooth off where the audi bit was and maybe just redo that section.  The silver outside is not too bad but now I have seen yours...

Not sure how the bottom black section comes off yet, seems to be clips again but without removing the foam - which doesn't look easy, it could be a pain to get off.

I like the subtle OEM look so wont be any crazy type graphics like some I have seen.

thanks for the info anyway, shame TPS ordered me the wrong boot mat though - even though I had one before, they got me the non-4motion one.  Another trip back.

The metal circles need prizing off from underneath. I found it best to rock and turn them at the same time and they came off better. Then the foam just lifts off. :happy2:

Managed to get the lower section off now without removing the foam. Don't think I'll need to remove it now - if I do paint the main unit then I can mask it up.

Quite like the colour coded look like yours, grey and gloss black to match the R features. may look for something steel grey like paint.
