Meg Gold Class here, silky with a washmit which is good enough for me; perhaps more emphasis on the post-wash excercises is more important.
Also use Megiuars soft wash, which is said to not strip back finish so much inbetween polishing/waxing.
I too thought NXT was purple... perhaps it's just the bottle colour.

May go for a megiuars because I can buy that in the local halfrauds! Spent a bit to much on chemicals this week!

Used Car-Lack 68 Shampoo for a long time which is very good.
Tried auto finesse lather shampoo, but didn't like it.
Switched to Wolf's Chemicals White Satin Car Shampoo which I find very very good

Gone - Candy White MK5 Golf GTI (you never really forget your first true love...!)
MK7 Candy White GTI pp - you can never have enough eye candy

I use this:

Cleaning power may not be strongest if your car gets downright filthy between washes, resulting in the need for a couple of washes but it sure does make your car look bang tidy

It is, my mistake, Meguires do a yellow shampoo , but can't remember what it's name is, I bought 2 litres of Megs gold Class Friday for a change .

Great link..

the yellow stuff I normally used is called Meguires Ultimate Shampoo. Has a yellow Nissan GTR on the front. My personal preference over Meguires shampoo's.

Meguiars Shampoo Plus for the bucket and Meguiars Hyper Wash for the foam lance.  I also add some Megs Last Touch detailing spray to my bucket.
It's about £20 for a US gallon of each and lasts for a long time.  Much cheaper then buying smaller bottles of similar brands.

In the passed i have used Zymol Shampoo, which you can buy from Halfords for about £5.  It's super silky and smells divine!

Ah, so that has wax included. Is that suitable if you are going to polish the car after?

Im using the Zymol just now as I went in to Halfords and didnt have enough cash on me for the Megs stuff so just got the Zymol - seems to be about as good as the Megs NXT.
