Hi guys, is this the latest form a version c (non star button) RNS 510? Have been told 5218 wont work on a c version?

Will 3970 not allow full postcode either?  :sad1:

Full postcode is defined by your map disc and provided you are on a higher firmware that 2760 or similar.

ok thanks Hedge, can I tell what firmware i have by entering that secret menu by pressing and holding down the set up button?

Depending on the firmware you may need to use vcds to adapt channel 50 to allow the secret menu to show up. Alternatively, if your menu isn't available then you can use your polar options to turn it on.

Hi Bacillus,

I am a newbie here, I've read alot of information and am still a little confused and wanted to update my RNS510.  However I understand that what firmware you upgrade it to, depends on what firmware you already have? Or can I just download the latest firmware for all units as per the tutorial? My car was first registered in November 2007 on a 58 plate if that helps.  I don't have this secret menu when you hold the setup button even for 1 minute, all that shows up is the radio selection AM/FM/DAB.  What do you mean by polar options? Any help is much appreciated.

I also want to update to the latest maps, is this easy to do? Apologies for hijacking the thread.
