Super Lap Scotland
« on: February 01, 2013, 12:21:47 pm »
Well Knockhill, my closest track at 150 miles away  :sad1: now has their own version of Bedfords How Fast Event, but with a mildly better class system.

The classes are based on WHEEL HP / race weight (so car including driver and a minimal amount of fuel).

A = > 400bhp/ton
B = 301 to400bhp/ton
C = 201 to 300bhp/ton
D = < 200bhp/ton

Im definitely up for this once im back from the Falkland Islands.Although the scary thing is mine is way down even on the Class D figures  :scared:
im only circa 210whp and with me in the car its prob 1.28 tonne so only about 168whp/ton and my car id far from slow.

Thinking about it a 350Hp(290whp) ed30 would drop into the Class D as well!!!!!

Just realised a Golf GTI (stock) would only be about 115whp/ton and still in Class D!!!

I reckon the classes could be rejigged to make it more competitive.

Edit

just read into it a little more.

You need your MSA National B non race licence, which is easy to get, i need to renew mine but its just a case of filling some forms in and paying your money,

but you are limited on what tyres you can run, only MSA type 1A&1B tyres are allowed, you also need a race suit/helmet etc.  They have made it alot more dificuylt than the MSV How Fast event, thats for sure.  :scared:

Which IMO is rubbish, how can yours be in the same class as a 200Hp Mk5 GTI  :fighting:.  Id be p1$$ed if i turned up hoping for a competitive class and found yours there.  Id still take you though  :driver:  :P

I agree, this looks great, but the under 200hp/ton group will have everything from 4wd turbos to n/a FWD's. E46 M3 is just over that!

Whilst I might wish I had his driving ability, i actually dont  :driver:  Im better......  :grin:

I even posted about it on the FB page and they came back with they cant support every car, but since mine, yours and hurdys are heavily tuned yet still falling into the slowest bracket i think they're classes are all to sh!t

No, 320 BHP not whp.  Steve had his dyno re calibrated and it now is the heartcrusher of the North!

The bonus is my horses are now big ass shire horses and not my little ponies.  :happy2:

So it must have been reading pretty high before the calibration then because thats now JKM S2+ K04 levels.

Anyway, quoting 320hp is much better because it'll annoy others when they cant keep up anymore.  i always quote low  :innocent:

So your WHP will actually be pretty low as its AWD as well?

Heartcrusher of the North or not too accurate now???
I thought that a stage 2+ R or S3 should make a minimum of 340bhp  :confused:
