Full Interior Carbon Fibre Wrap in new 4D Wrap
« on: February 02, 2013, 05:28:33 pm »
My Gti had a few marks on the centre console so decided to wrap it in the new Carbon Fibre 4D Wrap. Not sure if im going to remove the bit around the stereo yet as it might need a break in colour somewhere.

Only took me about 2 hours to remove all parts, Warp , and fit back together. Looks even better in real life, pics dont really do it justice, but here goes....

All comments welcome:

Then did the top half:

I admire your patience but too much carbon wrap can look tacky in my opinion. It looks too uniform and as much as it may sound crazy I like to see a few small weave defects which you can only achieve with proper carbon.

I think im gonna leave the Alu strips, quite like the silver in the cabin.......Like some one said earlier, too much can look tacky, so think im gonna leave it for now.

....I thought I would post my link just in case it helped if you had decided to do the alu strips.

The only carbon vinyl I've got on mine are the alu strips, surround of the head unit only and the backs of my Recaro's because I don't like their original high gloss black. As 3D is more satin finish than gloss, it doesn't look too much IMO  :happy2:

Looks really good. I like the ashtray and gear surround the best. Might just have a go at this.

That looks very nice in isolation and nice photos too  :happy2:

Do you have any pics taken from further back to show it more in context?

^^^^ Looks good. I reckon it might look OTT if you had carbon elswhere on the dashboard as well - But just my personal opinion.

Looks like your steering wheel carbon wraps are 3D and in a perfect world should match your new 4D clocks wrap.

I would do your steering wheel wraps in this \\\\\\ weave direction so it further matches.

I think that the wheel and clocks carbonising look very well together  :happy2:

Its all done with the same stuff, 3d di noc.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-Di-Noc-Carbon-Fibre-Vinyl-Wrap-30x20cm-CA-421-A4-/250636657736?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a5b1be448

I tried some 4d but sent it back as it was just printed vinyl. Maybe I bought the worng stuff, but I like the textured 3m product.

And no, there's no more wrap going inside the car.

I only got the stuff originally to the forks on my mountain bike and the back of my iphone.

Its durable stuff

Did you take the clocks out? Or did you do it whilst they were in the car?
