Springs

<< < (2/6) > >>

bacillus:
What model golf do you have as the springs will differ in a tdi vs a gti?

vRStu:
As above you must get the correct springs, TDi ones are normally rated for a higher noseweight from the obvious extra weight of the engine.

I would agree that 55mm is the most common fitment.

-45mm is a long way to go down IMHO, you'll end up scraping the ground quite a lot and if not caeful take the sump off.

matt a:
Very few Golfs had 50mm struts, but you should be able to get your arm into to measure the circumference then divide by pi.

MongyUk:
Can you go too low?? 45mm will be fine. Just about right. I had Apex springs before (on a different car)....said that it would drop by 45mm but was more like 30-35mm. If you can afford to pay a bit more well worth investing in something like the eibach sportline, or just go the whole hog and get FK coilovers.
Depends if you are a low whore like me or not?

Of course you can!!

If everywhere you drive the car is scraping the ground or you can't get over speed humps then you are too low.
