I used to get <4mpg from my GTR on a track day so I think 10mpg is quite frugal really!! :happy2:

That would work out at almost 4 gallons for a lap of the Nurburgring VLN circuit (14.7 miles). Or £25 in fuel a lap!!

Yep, the joys of nigh on 600 Bhp .I used to do 2 laps, 3 was running too close to being empty, then pop down to the petrol station to fill up again. I was getting 44-46 miles to a tank.

Got to be worth it though for the smiles it must bring!

Worth every penny mate, as anyone who enjoys track days would agree.  :driver:

On a track you are going to get super low. It's all full throttle and then hard brakes and then full throttle.  Track is basically about burning as much fuel as you possibly can. Max power is typically at min efficiency

On the dyno during live and custom mapping sessions I can watch the fuel gauge drop.

Really fancy doing one, just worried I'll bin it pushing it to hard, or someone else would bin it into me!

Best not to try too hard the first few times mate. It's best to get a feel for the track first as the "locals" can travel extremely quickly, even in innocuous looking machinery and can appear from nowhere.

I had a mate who binned £25,000 of e46 M3 into the armco by trying too hard and the bills from the track for damage/loss of earnings/recovery/storage were horrendous.  :scared: That's without the cost of writing off his M3.

Yer, I looked at a list for the price of damages if binning it at The Ring, made me feel a little bit sick. I might give one a try this year once i have some new rubber on and the weather is better. Do place's do novice day's?

Plenty of tracks do novice days mate, give your local track a bell and they'll let you know.
